THINGS TO DO IN LAS VEGAS
Most of the Las Vegas attractions revolve around the iconic neon lights and sights along the Strip, however, there are other destinations attached to the casinos – the Venetian, the Bellagio, the Fremont Street Experience, the Mob Museum and the Red Rock Canyon.
The Strip
Just when you pass the famous “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign, you will come across the Strip where you will find famous Las Vegas attractions – the Bellagio Fountains, the Eiffel Tower at Paris, Las Vegas, the pyramid and sphinx and The Venetian’s Grand Canal. The “Strip” extends from Mandalay Bay to the Stratosphere casino.
Bellagio Casino and Fountains
The popular choice amongst the high-rollers due to its high stakes, this Las Vegas attraction offers table games and slot machines to a race and sports book. It also hosts the World Poker Tour. Another attraction is the Bellagio’s massive fountains which features a light and water show every 15 to 30 minutes. Other amenities include – fine art gallery, botanical gardens, luxury hotel, several restaurants, and nightlife venues as well.
Cirque du Soleil
Las Vegas attractions are full of entertainment, there is no point to forget a performance company like Cirque du Soleil who is known for its incredible acrobatic feats, performed with an unrivaled level of artistry. There are various performances made by Cirque du Soleil – the “Love” show, “Michael Jackson ONE” at Mandalay Bay, “Zumanity” at New York, “Mystere” at Treasure Island, and “KA” at the MGM Grand.
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area
This Las Vegas attraction offers a respite from Las Vegas’ unnatural neon landscape. Choose to stretch your legs along the numerous hiking and biking trails. You will always be surrounded by the beautiful Mojave Desert and its signature red hills.
The Neon Museum
As discussed Las Vegas attractions shine brightly with colorful bulbs, the museum is located on Las Vegas Boulevard just north of the Mob Museum. It houses more than 200 pieces of old Vegas signage spread over 2 acre outdoor exhibit.
Caesars Palace Casino and the Forum Shops
Since 1960s, this Las Vegas attraction welcomes visitors, made an appearance in popular movies such as “Rain Man,” “Showgirls,” “Iron Man” and “The Hangover.” There are massive columns and frescoes paying tribute to the casino’s namesake. It houses about 160 specialty stores, the newly revamped Fall of Atlantis animatronic show and a 50,000-gallon aquarium.
Hoover Dam
About 30 miles southeast of Las Vegas sits the Hoover Dam, over the Colorado River and the Black Canyon (which separates Nevada and Arizona). This immense Las Vegas attraction confines Lake Mead which is the largest reservoir in the United States by volume. It provides power to Nevada, Arizona and California since 1935. A million visitors are welcomed here each year, as one of America’s most recognized landmarks.
